Big HAPS in May and June! Come join Nearly There! for our 2012 summer kickoff gigs!
Well, we are going to have a BUSY May and June, and you, our dedicated fans, are key to the success of those events.
May 19 will be performing for a fundraiser for the Denver Democrats (link to follow), then the REALLY exciting stuff! You bring the power to us, and we'll absorb it, multiply it and give it back to you times TEN!
Thursday evening, June 7th, at St. Michael's Square, in Greeley, in *wonderful* outdoor amphitheater, we will be performing the major kickoff show of our 2012 tour...such as it is! There is a great bar and restaurant just adjacent to the amphitheater and we urge all to make an entire evening of it.

We realize it's a weekday evening and a long drive, but tell all your friends, for it's going to a BLAST! The amphitheater can easily accommodate 40+ folks and you can even bring a picnic to enjoy on the grass seats. There are also benches and concrete seats, somewhat like a small Fiddler's Green.
NOTE!!! Our June 29th gig at Cannon Mine has been moved forward, to sometime in July: As soon as we know when, we'll post the new info. Sorry for any inconvenience.

As always, it give all of us such GREAT pleasure to sing for you, and we are so looking forward to seeing a full house, at both events! At St. Michael's if there is an SR crowd, it will be because over 700 of you show up...it *could* happen! Help make it happen!

Possible Future gig spot!
Working on--but not yet firm- a possible Thursday evening gig, sometime in June. The reason I'm excited is, it would be in a beautiful little outdoor amphitheater, up in Greeley. The REALLY good thing is, it's limited to only 200-300 people, so no more SRO!
It would be from 7 PM, pretty much as long as we wanted to play and the audience stayed to hear!
Stay tuned for more info here and on the website/blog.

Nearhead Newz--April 2012
We had a great time at Edgewater Coffee Company on Saturday, April 14th! It was a SRO crowd and we KILLED! Thanks to the many who turned out and apologies to the many who had to leave, due to no room. We are looking for bigger venues so if you know of any, please contact us and let us know.
Keep in touch through our new website, and we'll look for you at our upcoming gigs.

Nearheadz Newz! March 2012
Calling all Nearheadz!
Whew... there's a LOT of news to report!
First, we've been lucky enough to increase the band from the "Strike Force " (Don, Marty, and Paul, for small venues) by two new GREAT performers, who's addition will make us the ...well, not sure, but BIGGER!
We are lucky to have Gloria Nelson on bass guitar and occasionally, we'll get to hear her on lead guitar; Coming in with a wonderful soprano voice is Ada Lischka, who is also taking on (BLESS her pointed head!) the occasional egg, cabaza, tambourine and who knows what else. She brings a great and clear sound to the backup vocals and she will soon be doing some lead stuff, too!
I'll tease you with just one, and you'll be amazed: We have increased our repertoire to include a Rolling Stones tune, featuring Ada on lead vocals...;)
Secondly, Ada is taking on setting up the new website; yep, a real, honest-to-goodness website! It's not yet live, but should be within a week or so.
www.nearlythere.co
We have also updated the blog, so it's now www.nearlytherefolkmusic.com. No 'blogspot,' so it's easier to remember. You can also find us on Facebook, just by typing in "Nearly There!"
Thirdly, we will be playing our first gig of the year at Edgewater Coffee Company, just west of Sheridan Boulevard, on 25th, on Saturday, April 14th, beginning at 7 PM. Get there early to not only get a good seat (there's not really any bad ones, just not many!) and help support this wonderful small neighborhood business. They serve the customary java products, plus a few munchies, and Gina Hartley welcomes patrons bring in food from the surrounding restaurants; just be REALLY care of the 'hot, from US Thai....!
Finally, it's GREAT to get back into gigging and we will keep you posted, here for the time being eventually this will just become a reminder to take a gander at our new website, soon.

Finally, and as always, thanks to all our fans and please, tell them to visit the website, and to check out our CD, "Songs Among Friends," available for downloads at www.cdbaby.com/cd/nearlythere.com
I apologize if you've received this twice: as we consolidate to the website, we'll cull out the multiples.
We're are looking forward to a fun and music-filled 2012, and we'll keep you up-to-date!
We're--
Paul Wigton
Marty Kenfield
Don Mares

And, oh yea, Ryan "Mini Me" Kenfield, band roadie!
